
Kohima, Oct 23 (MExN): Nagaland Tourism Association visited Benreu village under Peren district to review and survey the village for the inauguration of Mount Pauna Tourist village as well as for the celebratory programme of Langsimnyi festival which will be starting from October 31.
Parliamentary Secretary Kaito, MLA Vatsu Meru along with Director Tourism Alem Pongener also paid a brief visit to the tourist village and the resorts.
“This occasion will commemorate the original traditional way of celebrations and will also showcase the fusion of the modern with the traditional in many of the activities which will unfold as the celebration progresses,” said the NTA through its information centre.
Citizens of Benreu and their mentor, MLA Vatsu Meru, has left no stone unturned to make the event a unique experience, which observers say is the first of its kind in the state.
The occasion will be marked by a traditional gate pulling ceremony, a cultural extravaganza and feasts, fusion rock music concert, traditional games and sports, Miss Peren 2006 Beauty pageant, trekking to Mount Pauna and to river Teipuiki, exhibition and sale of handloom and handicrafts, agricultural products and food stalls.
