DIMAPUR, MARCH 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today stated that the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi “has proved that under BJP rule, thieves are freed while those raising their voice for the people are jailed.”
“The act is a murder of democracy and an infringement upon the freedom of expression. If left uncorrected, the Surat High Court judgement will become a law by way of precedence,” a press release from the Communications Department of the NPCC stated.
It noted that the whole episode relates to the Modi surname. “The thieves allegedly named were Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi whose cases are still pending. They are both fugitives before the law. The complainant is none other than another Modi - Purnesh Modi who is a BJP MLA. If Modi was not PM, who would have bothered to jail the voice of the public?” the NPCC questioned.
It meanwhile claimed that the BJP’s objective is to “acquire absolute power to corrupt absolutely.” “The public will have no right to defend themselves or point at the wrongdoings of the shameless and selfish low class leaders and businessmen who grab everything that comes before them,” it stated.
