Former Chief Minister and current Executive Member of State BJP Executive Committee, KL Chishi has described the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee’s (NPCC) notification over his “removal” from the Congress as “redundant, obsolete and cheap politicking.”

Chishi, who called The Morung Express over the phone on Tuesday, said, “I resigned from the Indian National Congress on January 21 and officially joined BJP on January 23. I contested the 2018 State general elections as a BJP candidate so there is no question of removing me from the Political Affairs Committee of NPCC.”

He said it was a “matter of cheap politicking” adding, “I mentioned that I have abdicated all responsibilities of NPCC on January 21 and my resignation letter was addressed to the NPCC President.”
