Phek, June 24 : In relation to the ongoing construction of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Phek Complex, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) 19th Phek Assembly Constituency today issued a statement supporting the Nagaland Contractor & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Phek District Unit, for setting up of fact finding committee.
In an official statement jointly appended by NPF 19th Phek A/C President Api Vadeo and general secretary Nuchicho Keyho has stated that the irregularities and rampant corruption for construction of DC Complex has damaged the good image of the DAN government as well as the party in general.
Reacting to the issue, the NPF 19th A/C Phek has demanded an enquiry into the irregularities of the following facts; firstly, it questioned – why the then Executive Engineer (EE) CAWD Vekho Swuro released an amount of Rs. 27 lakhs for sanitation, water supply and electrification when not even a single work has been done? secondly, why DC, Phek complex could not be enhanced, when DC Complex Dimapur and Peren were enhanced?
The NPF 19th Phek A/C further stated that it shall leave no stone unturned until and unless the erring officer and contractors are being booked as per the law of the land and added that it will not be held responsible if the authorities fail to respond the call of the justice. The party while expressing its great concerned for the welfare of the general public requested them not to politicise the issue.
