NPF Dimapur Div conducts tree plantation drive

Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): NPF Dimapur Division led by its President Nungsang Jamir along with representatives from all the five Assembly Constituencies conducted a social work cum tree plantation in the Division's office compounds at Chumukedima on April 14.

Speaking on the occasion, Nungsang said tree plantation is an important global requirement to preserve the fragile ecology and that deforestation has been the main cause of global warming as is experienced even in Nagaland where we are experiencing rising temperatures over the years.

“Each tree that we plant today will remain long after we are gone and future generations will thank us for our simple act of planting trees today,” he said. Not only will the trees provide shade and cool down temperatures, it will also enhance the aesthetic beauty of the compound. He also revealed that later in the year, the Division plans to hold a rally in Dimapur and requested the members present today to be mentally prepared for the occasion and also to extend full cooperation to ensure that the proposed rally is a resounding success.
