NPF responds to MLA Thomas Ngullie

Kohima, June 13 (MExN): Apropos to the news item ‘Thomas Ngullie alleges indifference to constituency by the State government’ published on June 13, Naga People’s Front (NPF) has alleged that MLA Thomas Ngullie failed to see the developmental activities around the State because “he has gone into a political hibernation since the early part of last year.”

“No MLA has ever neglected his constituency, or avoided attending Government office and stayed away from his colleagues, like Thomas Ngullie has been doing for nearly two years,” stated a rejoinder issued by Press Bureau, NPF Central, Kohima. “He has taken holiday for almost two long years and his constituents do not know what he is up to or where he is,” it alleged.

Rather than complaining that there are no developmental activities in his constituency, the rejoinder said, Thomas should participate more in the governance and take developmental activities to his constituency instead of expecting things to happen on its own.

Meanwhile, reacting to Thomas Ngullie’s statement, the NPF Women Wing Central has also stated, “It is ironical that a person who does not attend even assembly and who hardly visits his constituency is talking about development activity for the people.”

In a rejoinder issued by its President, Tonlih Wangsa and Press Secretary, Kerie Pfukha, the women wing said that Thomas Ngullie, as an MLA, is supposed to do something good for the people instead of simply blaming the Government. “It is surprising that he even blames the public instead of blaming himself as his people have elected him to work for his constituency and for the people of Nagaland.”

Further, the rejoinder stated the MLA has “no right whatsoever to poke his nose in the NPF internal affairs.” It cautioned him to be careful while commenting on NPF matters as he is not even a primary member of the party.

Regarding the educational qualification of the Nagaland Chief Minister, the NPF Women Wing said the party has nothing more to comment as “we have stated umpteen times that the matter is pending in the court of law and therefore we cannot comment further as the law will take its own course of action.”
