NPF trying to tarnish good image of our leader: BJP Wokha

Wokha, April 12 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha District has charged the Naga People’s Front of “defaming” Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton.

The NPF had on April 10 issued a statement expressing alarm and accusing Patton of having an “ill-design” to replace the present Director General of Police, Nagaland. This was due to the latter “refusing to make back door appointments in the Police department,” the NPF had alleged.

On Thursday however, the BJP Wokha defended the Party Legislature Leader while accusing the NPF of desperately attempting to politicise and propagate the issue and “trying to tarnish the good image of our leader”.

A statement from N. Nchumbemo Jami, General Secretary, BJP Wokha District, argued that laying the entire blame on Patton for seeking replacement of the incumbent DGP was “unwarranted,”.

The BJP Wokha reminded the NPF and sections of social media bloggers that the imbroglio for replacement of DGP Nagaland originated during the regime of the NPF Government.

“The fact and documentary proof shows our leader was the last person to write the letter to the centre as a responsible leader in charge of Home to discharge his official duties,” it maintained.
