Kohima, June 6 (MExN): Reacting to the news report on interaction among MP Neiphiu Rio and Naga people living in Delhi on June 3, NPF Central Youth Wing today questioned why the MP was interacting on the ‘Framework Agreement’ only on June 3 when the same was signed on August 3, 2015.
“Why is the necessity of calling for an interaction suddenly on the Framework Agreement after his suspension from the party?” the NPF Youth Wing asked in a rejoinder issued by its Media Cell. It stated that if Rio was really interested in the Framework Agreement, he would have organized various interactions in Delhi within the ten months. “Neiphiu should not hoodwink the Naga intellectuals in Delhi by talking on the Framework Agreement and win their sympathy to take up his suspension issue with the NPF party,” it added.
The Youth Wing further observed that the people at the meeting went beyond their parameter “as the issue of suspension of Rio from the NPF Party is a party matter which can be discussed within the party forum only.” It called it unfortunate that the meeting termed the show cause notice issued to Rio as “inconsistent”. The Youth Wing maintained that those who had attended the interaction have no locus standi to question the decision of the NPF party as “the process of serving show cause notice and issuing suspension order to Rio was done within the provision of the NPF Constitution.”
