‘NPF’s U-turn forced by Political dregs’

Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Nagaland state Congress unit is certain that the NPF’s  sudden political turn to the UPA could have been compelled by ‘overdraft’, rampant corruption, ‘deviation of resources’ and the overall deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

According to the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee’s media cell, the sudden political U-turn of NPF chief Dr. Shürhozelie and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was “amusing.” It clearly reflects the shortsighted political vision, immaturity and absence of political morality, the Congress said referring to the NPF’s recent “unconditional support” to the Congress-led UPA at the center.  “The sudden turn of direction by NPF leaderships might have been compounded by the burden of overdraft, rampant corruption, deviation of resources and overall  uncontrolled law and order situation in the state,” the NPCC said in a statement today.

The NPF-DAN government, the NPCC stated, came into being under the patronage of the BJP-NDA government at the centre and “grabbed the authority of power from the Congress government in the state…”  But the electorates of the country reposed their mandate in favor of the INC as the country needs a credible, stable and reliable political party to carry forward the dreams and aspirations of its citizen in a changing shift of global power, the NPCC explained.

“Now, the writing on the wall is clearly visible that the NPF leadership was shortsighted and welded power by coercion, enticement and default with no political vision, the NPF leaderships had raised the panic button and pleaded in nakedness to the AICC to accept their elected MP unconditional support to the UPA ministry at New Delhi,” the NPCC said. Here, the Congress explained that the INC “by tradition”, respects “inner party democracy and cannot brush away the unanimous opinion of the pradesh Congress committee to “allow an alien and anti-Congress conglomeration to jump into the fold from the back door”.

The NPCC reaffirmed its “principles” for the welfare of the people of the state at all times and hopes that in the near future, “we should not become victim of brute forces, money power, deceit and enticement and become victim of circumstances”. Political leaders who have “bankruptcy of political vision” will lead the society to its doom, the NPCC cautioned.
