NPRAAF asks DoSE to strictly implement winter clothing project

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 10 (MExN): The Nagaland Public Rights Awareness Forum (NPRAAF) today informed that some schools in Dimapur and Kohima have started receiving sweaters, socks and tiffin boxes since a week back.

It may be noted that the NPRAAF had on November 20 revealed about the release of Rs 14.59 crore to the School Education Department for providing Winter Clothing to Elementary Students of Government Schools during 2017-18.

The NPRAAF appreciated the School Education Department for implementing the project and at the same time urged upon it to strictly adhere to the set guidelines for distribution of winter clothing to the students. It also appealed to the tribal students’ bodies and their units to see to it that all elementary students within their respective jurisdictions receive their due share.

The NPRAAF meanwhile mentioned that its efforts to approach an investigating agency would materialize during the first quarter of 2018 owing to the colossal compilation of corroborated material evidences. “It is collecting more material evidences and meticulously preparing to nail the faulting departments and some retired and serving state government officials involved in mismanagement of public fund,” it added.

The forum informed that its members had in the past “received threats for taking up corrupt issues in the government.” “The issue which NPRAAF is taking up is highly sensitive in nature concerning several departments and in this regard solicits strong support and cooperation from the public. At all cost, NPRAAF will endeavour to bring the issues it is taking up to logical conclusion,” it affirmed.
