Wokha: State Project Manager- Monitoring and Evaluation, Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Imonenla, along with training coordinator Rajashekar, Mahesh and 7 Professional Resource Persons (PRPs) from OMPLIS, Orvakal Mandal/Block, Andhra Pradesh, a national resource organisation under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), visited N/ Longidang and Longla Village under R.D Block Chukitong-Wokha.
A press release stated that NRLM is a rural poverty alleviation programme undertaken by the Ministry of Rural Development in the country, with a mission to reach out to the ‘Poorest of the Poor’ and enable the poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities.
The visit is undertaken under the aegis of NSRLM, which at present has a target coverage of 11 Districts, 74 Blocks and 1151 Villages in the state. The team interacted with the identified Community Resource Persons (CRPs) for implementing strategies in the resource Block and the team conducted socio-economic assessments of self help groups (SHGs) in the villages. The PRPs assisted by Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) staffs conducted household survey of the same villages.
Earlier, Rajashekar exhorted the SHGs members by highlighting the success stories of women SHGs of Orvakal Block, Andhra Pradesh. and appealed to the village council, elders and every individual in the village for their cooperation in the success of the mission.
