DIMAPUR, JAN 6 (MExN): The NSCN (I-M) today accused the State Government of “giving the Tikhir people a step motherly treatment in an inhuman way.” Tatar K Daniel Tikhir, on behalf of the Tikhir national workers, in a press release alleged that ex-Pastor Pensukiu, Awang, Chenti VG and Kiusumong VG were “brutally beaten to death by the State force, the so called neutral force in Shamator village” in the presence of DC Tuensang, SP Tuensang and ADC Shamator.
Seeking an answer from the government on whether the State’s forces were deployed for “creating the situation or normalizing the situation,” the Tatar said, “We the Tikhir Region GPRN are silently observing this partiality act of the district administration and if the Government does not tackle the situation impartially we will be force (d) to take our own step to protect our territory.”
Daniel further said, “We want to know in what manner the Government is inquiring about the killing of NAP personnel and blaming the Tikhir people without any proper evidence.” Another question posed before the government was up to what steps it had already taken to redress the loss of life and properties caused “by the State force in Shamator.”
The release further appealed to the DAN Government for thorough investigation and intervention at the earliest possible.
