The NSCN-IM has today accused the Government of India of playing a communal card while stating that the latter had chosen the 'vested interest group of Semas to make a fool' of the NSCN-IM. "The Government of India, after a seeming show of seriousness for the last ten years, chose the vested group of Semas to make a fool of the NSCN by surreptitiously playing a communal card," said the NSCN-IM today.

The outfit said that unbecoming is the way India handles the Naga issue being stoutly defended by NSCN-IM. "When the government finds NSCN negotiators led by its General Secretary Th. Muivah too hot to handle, they eyed upon the vulnerable Semas as their reliable partners in crime. The new version of political terminology dictates that to outplay the rival party in a hung negotiation that finds no political settlement on the ground of legitimacy, the option is a political crime. The vested Semas led by Western Sumi Hoho and Sumi Hoho in collaboration with the dismissed Azheto and his accomplices ultimately stand to be excommunicated from the Naga community for betraying the Naga cause into the hands of India," stated the NSCN-IM.

The outfit then said that history will bear witness to the 'indignity of some Sema Church leaders who jumped into the bandwagon of the traitors and deserters'. It then said that taking the name of God, 'these Church leaders even went thus far' to denounce NSCN-IM Chairman Isak Chishi Swu in preference to Azheto the habitual defector. "It is total disregard to Swu's committed service to the Naga Nation for the last fifty years and to the spiritual guiding force he has seen throughout," stated the outfit while questioning, "Where is these Church leaders' moral integrity in playing the role of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ?"

The NSCN-IM then predicted that history shall testify how far this group of Semas will go in bringing shame and insult to the whole Sema community and to the 'Naga Nation'. "The Naga people are there and history will not be buried in the hands of these traitors," added the NSCN-IM statement.

The outfit claimed that the Naga nation is proud of the many diehard and hardcore Sema national workers who are still there to defend the national principle, come what may.   "History will honour them in due course of time. The traitors' group may claim the crowd but justice and principle they have none," said the NSCN-IM.

Finally, the outfit stated that the world is not too big anymore for India to hide after 'committing such an act of political crime against the Nagas'. "And the world is watching closely how India is making a mess of Indo-Naga political issue by using some Semas under the banners of Western Sumi Hoho, Sumi Hoho and Azheto group comprising of traitors and deserters. Immoral political game plan never last, for history has testified this very truth", said the NSCN-IM.
