Dimapur, December 28 (MExN): Following the arrest of one of its Kilonsers on December 26, the NSCN (IM) today flayed the “highly provocative actions” of the Assam Riffles.
Taking undue advantage of the NSCN “being tolerant” to respect the hard earned peace moment awaiting final settlement, the Assam Rifles have fully exploited the ceasefire period in raiding and ransacking and snatching anything within their reach, an irate NSCN vented in a statement through its MIP on Thursday. The unprecedented offensives conducted at the official residence of Kilonser RT Tsanglao on December 26 last by the 32 AR under command of Col. VS Pal once again brought about bitter past memories of the Naga people, the MIP stated and maintained that the raid which lasted for more than two hours was in defiance of the Cease Fire ground rules.
The MIP asserted that it “seriously observed” the incessant and provoked actions of the Assam Riffles as “proactive elements” to upset the prolonged political talks between Government of India and Naga People and in this regard, called on the “Friends of the Hill People” to respect peoples’ sentiment and ceasefire ground rules to avoid “misconduct” between Naga peoples and GoI in near future.
