NSCN (IM) holds consultative meet with DESU, KESU & KTSU

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) held a consultative meeting with the Eastern Sumi Hoho, Gaon Buras and frontal organizations including Dimapur Eastern Sumi Union (DESU), Kohima Eastern Sumi Union (KESU) and Kiphire Tuensang Students’ Union (KTSU) at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on September 26.  

A press note from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) informed that the team was headed by Hukavi Yepthomi, Kilo Kilonser and Lieut Gen Anthony Shimray, Military Cross, Longvibu, Naga Army.  

“Today’s consultation is a call for sharing and understanding the political issue at hand so that the Nagas harvest the deserving national aspirations,” the NSCN (IM) said.  

It meanwhile reported the Eastern Sumi Hoho leadership as having conveyed that “they are with the GPRN and will always stand with the Nagas.” “The Eastern Sumi Hoho at the same time appealed for separation from the United Sangtam Region and to grant them a separate Eastern Sumi Region under the GPRN,” the release added.  

It further stated that the NSCN (IM) led by the Kilo Kilonser and the Longvibu “have been endlessly reaching out to the Nagas following the signing of the Framework Agreement between the Naga leaders and the Government of India.”  

The NSCN (IM) said that a “number of Naga tribal Hohos have become friendlier and better acquainted with the progress of the Indo-Naga Peace Process.” The GPRN leaders meanwhile reminded the delegates that Naga politics is based on the principle of “our faith in Christ and assured that the dignity and pride of the Nagas shall be restored through the Framework Agreement.” It appealed to fellow Nagas to “set aside sectarian interest and work in unity to achieve our national goal together.”  

The NSCN (IM) further conveyed that a solution to the Indo-Naga conflict will be “equally beneficial to India too.”
