NSCN (IM) meets WSSU leaders

On the invitation of Sumi leaders from NSCN (IM), the Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) and its units comprising of 10 units and 1 sub-unit on Monday held a consultative meeting with the former at Purana Bazaar Council Hall, Dimapur.

Speaking to The Morung Express over the phone, WSSU President, Nito Achumi said that the NSCN (IM) leaders apprised them about shared sovereignty which it was working out with the Government of India. He informed that the NSCN (IM) led by its Collective Leadership member, Q. Tuccu told the student leaders that the ongoing talks with the Centre was inclusive of Nagas of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.  

Further, it was informed that the NSCN (IM) would pursue the issue of Nagas of Myanmar with the Myanmar Government after settling the issue of Nagas in the present Indian state with the GoI. The NSCN (IM) leaders also highlighted the history of the Naga political struggle.  

Nito informed that more than 15 Sumi leaders from NSCN (IM) including Steering Committee Executives, Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers, Tatars and others held a meeting with WSSU and its units’ office bearers.
