Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): Involvement of NSCN-IM functionaries and cadres have been strongly alleged by the Congress committee of Kangtsung, under 21 Tuli A/c. A note from the Congress committee of the said unit highlighted a recent instance of the underground outfit’s involvement.
On February 25 at about 12:00 noon, an armed group numbering about fifteen led by one I Sobo Jamir, a “tatar” of Kangtsung village and “major” Imtilemba of Changtongya, both of the NSCN-IM and a number of persons “from the side of T Tali” independent candidate, surrounded the Congress camp at Kangtsung. T Tali’s “side”, according to the Congress note, consisted of one Yangersenba, one Imsutangit and one Watimaren, all from Kangtsung F-Sector Tuli as well as one Sungkumtoshi and one Sentimeren, both from Molongyimsen village. The group beat up five youths, who were tied with ropes. One Lanuinba of Kangtsung was also picked up while a mobile handset with the SIM number 9954427329 was taken away.
Also, when the Congress youths were having a function for nomination of one Tsukjemwati as ‘treasurer’ when the unwanted elements” harassed the camp. The Congress youths confronted the situation and the “elements” left the village the unit stated. “Such act of terrorism is practicing especially in Tuli area to gain political mileage which should be condemned by all” it added.
