DIMAPUR: The offices of the Kohima Town Command and the Central Administrative Officer, NSCN (IM) has reportedly been raided by the Nagaland Police at midnight on Friday according to reliable sources. The NSCN (IM) alleged that the entire operation was done under the direction of the Kohima SP. Speaking to The Morung Express, MIP Deputy Kilonser Kraiba Chawang expressed dismay over the role being played by the SP. Pointing out that the State government had not given any direction for the operation, Chawang said the NSCN (IM) had been in touch with government authorities on the matter. “We have come to know of the role played by the SP Kohima and we consider him as a negative force working against the peace process”, Chawang said.

The Deputy Kilonser also charged the SP of violating the ceasefire ground rules terming the raid as an offensive operation against the NSCN (IM).

Regarding the shooting incident on November 24 in which Nagaland Post journalist Xavier Rutsa was wounded after armed miscreants shot at him; Chawang said they were awaiting the report of the General Headquarters dealing with the investigation process of the case.

Chawang said that the NSCN (IM) was ‘very serious’ regarding the Xavier case and assured that ‘justice would be delivered’ including the necessary compensation to be provided to Xavier.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier by this news-daily, SP Kohima had informed that stringent efforts towards Xavier’s case were being undertaken. The SP had revealed that the police had identified some of the suspects in the shooting incident. A hurdle in the investigation, the SP had said, was the inability of Xavier to identify the assailant who had fired on him.
