Dimapur, Dec 19 (MExN): The NSCN-K, greeting the people on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ and wishing for a new year marked with “forgive and love,” has called for ceaseless prayer support for the NSCN-IM “to let the IK group restrain themselves”.
Urging for prayers in ‘one heart’ that the year 2007 would be a blessed year for the Nagas, Mon CFSB ‘Sectional Officer’ Vitol S Tsuquswu in a note sought prayers of the people “to let the I-K group restrain themselves and show to Nagas through their deeds and actions and not merely by words and media write-ups.”
The note also wished for a blessed new year: “In order to hearten and mark not only the year 2007 but for future years too through forgive and love with peace, prosperity and joyousness since they have cheated Nagas for more than a decade”.
The note also stated that NSCN-K’s collective leadership had been extending unilateral ceasefires to its rival group since the years 1994 to 2005 from December 15 to January 15 for Christmas and 15 days for Good Friday. “But they rather took advantage and rendered heart-rending pains to family members and our leaders’ peace offer” the note explained. It also urged for prayers “to have one’s heart in the right place” till the goal, sovereignty, is achieved.
