DIMAPUR, JUNE 6 (MExN): In connection with the arrest of one Kughato Chishi by the Assam Rifles at Dimapur on June 1, the NSCN (K) today clarified that the said person is “not the Defence Secretary of NSCN/GPRN and also Brig. Akaho not the Finance Secretary as alleged.” A press release issued by the MIP of the NSCN (K) said that Kughato Chishi is “not assigned with any official responsibilities and therefore the testimonies rendered by him are null and void and NSCN/GPRN fully disowns the purported confessional statements of Kughato Chishi.” It further clarified that Khenili Jimo, wife of Brig. Akaho Jimo, Finance In-charge Dimapur “is not involved in any transaction and NSCN/GPRN condemns the attempted implication basing on alleged confessions of Kughato Chishi under duress.”
