NSCN-K clarifies on ‘abduction’ of Kizari leaders

Dimapur, Dec 27 (MExN): On the clarification sought by leaders of Kizari village, Phek, from the NSCN-K for allegedly abducting certain public leaders of the village on grounds they were working as ‘intelligence’ for the rival faction, NSCN-K Chakhesang Region has issued a clarification to “tell the truth”.

According to the region’s ‘Vice-Chairman’ Vepozo Shijoh, information was received that ‘certain persons’ were working for the NSCN-IM as informers. Accordingly, four persons were “arrested” at New Town Phek. However Kizari village’s Head GB, a Rana Peyuh, a youth president and one village council member met with the NSCN-K on the plea that the “arrested” persons are innocent and not involved in such activities as charged. It was also informed that the “arrested” persons are also leaders in the village – one VCC, two GBs and a public.

On the plea given, the persons were “bailed out”. “As we were discussing with the leaders of Kizari village, we came to know of some surprising facts. That, Mr. Kheveto (VCC) and party had drawn the money of irrigation bill for themselves. Therefore, the other leaders along with the general public of Kizari village made a complaint to the Dubashi court. But before the latter could pass the final judgment, the accused VCC, Mr. Kheveto took the case to the NSCN (IK). Accordingly, the three CAOs of Chakhesang, Sema and Pochury regions respectively tried to settle the case at Meluri town. But unfortunately, no decision was taken and in the mean time, the poor villagers of Kizari were told that an Order (Azah) had come from the Home Department saying that the case was to be transferred to Dimapur and that they should go there” the clarification stated.

Since “enough mental torture” had been done to the villagers “by threatening them in one way or the other in the name of faction”, the general public of Kizari “stopped the four accused not to go to Dimapur” the clarification maintained, adding that “till now the complainants are scared to go to their village due to the threat given to them by the IK gang at the behest of the accused VCC”.

The NSCN-K also alleged that the VCC and party had produced a false report. The NSCN-IM people, rather than taking up issue, “have once again demonstrated their evil designs in supporting the erring individual few, thus, harassing the villagers for no fault of theirs” the Chakhesang region stated.

The NSCN-IM is obstructing developmental of Kizari Village and is to destroy its existence as a peaceful village the region added and affirmed working according to the “wishes of the general public”. It also appealed to all to be “strong and be truthful and work for the betterment of the just cause” and see to it that such cases are dealt with effectively.
