NSCN-K demands details of affiliated students

Dimapur, Nov 17 (MExN): Maintaining that the affiliation of students from the four hill districts of Manipur to Nagaland schools is tomorrow’s problem both in terms of education and employment, the NSCN-K has asked educational institutions to submit the names and addresses of “their Manipuri students’ enrolment”.
“It is informed to all the head of the educational institutions of both private and government of the ten districts of Nagaland to submit their Manipuri students enrolment with full address in which school they have been enrolled for Class X standard and let us know the anticipated expenditure to be incurred from Nagaland state exchequer for those student/candidates as early as possible through fax number 03869 221673” K Zhimomi, ‘Secretary In-Charge of Education’ of the NSCN-K stated in a release.

Maintaining that the affiliation of the schools from the said districts of Manipur to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has become another “chronic disease” of unemployment, the NSCN-K asserted that in Nagaland alone the number of job seekers have gone up to “55, 000 till last years record” while many more are not registered. “The Nagas has been fighting for our own independence and also educated peoples are fighting for their jobs with hue and cry” it stated even while warning that “today their affiliation attempt is tomorrow’s problem of the Nagas, both educationally and unemployment”. It added thus: “We being the Naga, we are for the Nagas. If it is God’s will, we will never keep an empty stomach of the Nagas. Therefore, the Nagas should be very cautious by not admitting them (students of the stated districts) in the Nagas’ educational institutions before facing another great problem”.
