NSCN-K for separate education board

Dimapur, Nov 23 (MExN): The NSCN-K is for a separate board of school education “as suggested by some senior ministers” in Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s ministry for the students from the four hill districts of Manipur. It assured all possible support if this option is “viable”.

“Some senior ministers in Neiphiu’s ministry had suggested separate board of school education for the hill people/students of Manipur. This option will be supported by every section of Nagas whether overground or underground,” NSCN-K Kilonser in-charge of Education AZ Jami stated in a release. It held the opinion that rather than placing “snares” for Naga students the stated option or any other should be explored.

“Why not go or try for this or any other option in solving the problem instead of placing unaware snares and traps for the Nagaland students of tomorrow? If a separate board of school education for hill students in Manipur is viable, we will extend all possible help to this venture” the NSCN-K assured.

The NSCN-K also maintained that its opposition to the affiliation does not mean it has “no heart for others” since “we are living in the world of mutual respect, mutual cooperation and mutual assistance”. However, the Nagaland government has several options before it to help students from the four hill districts which the leadership should find out instead of “going headlong against the sentiments of many Naga people” it pointed out. The NSCN-K had this for “youngsters” Rio and Education Minister Imkong Imchen though: “Neiphiu Rio as Chief Minister of Nagaland may have initiated some developmental works in Nagaland especially in his home district Kohima. Developments, enjoyments and pleasures and big posts are the ambitions of youngsters like Neiphiu and Imkong. Neiphiu is a doodler (sic) in politics.”

The Kilonser also queried if the government has thoroughly weighed the “advantages and disadvantages of what they are doing” and whether the “blame” would fall only on Rio and Imchen while their colleagues would go “Scot free”. The Kilonser also wondered if Rio is “so interested” in ignoring the sentiments of the people. “The ministers and the rich men of the Nagas only think in their own terms because their children can do anything with the wealth they have amassed at the expense of the Naga people and they never think the plight/fate of the youths of the poor parents who are shedding tears of blood silently” the release added.
