DIMAPUR, SEPT 28 (MExN): Against the backdrop of the ‘Healing and Reconciliation Movement’ organized by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) to be launched tomorrow, the NSCN (K) has questioned as to why peace and reconciliation was necessary in 2006. “The enthusiasm of the NBCC will be appreciated and their courage recognized, if they could simply answer, ‘why are peace and reconciliation necessary in 2006, when it was not from 1997 to 2006 September?”, stated a press communiqué issued by Yimto Yimchunger, Deputy Kilonser, Public Relation and NGOs of the NSCN (K).
“Just as it has remained silent from 1997 to 2006 September, remain silent and see the actions of the NSCN. Give ten years to NSCN and its political dialogue with India and thereafter, intervene if necessary”, the Deputy Kilonser stated in a four page press note titled ‘Ire of peace and reconciliation’.
Addressing all the Church denominations, the NSCN (K) stated that no Naga and no Church should forsake the living God nor portray Him for the sake of ‘terrorists’ or to fill one’s pocket with Indian or Neiphiu Rio’s money. “Terrorists and Nagas cannot live together just as God and Satan cannot live together. No confusions please”, it stated.
Pointing out that if the NSCN (IM) insists on peace and reconciliation, the first thing then should be to make this happen with the Kukis and only then come to the NSCN (K) and the Nagas. “It is too good for the Nagas to unite, make peace, reconcile and live together but will it whitewash the genocide committed by the Isak-Khadao terrorist against the Kukis? The healing touch of the NBCC between the Isak-Khadao terrorists and Kukis of Nagaland and Manipur will state the position of the NBCC. First things first”, it stated.
The NSCN (K) also alleged that the NBCC had ‘unsparingly’ supported the NSCN (IM)-Government of India talks while completely ignoring the existence and sacrifice of the NSCN (K). “When Mokokchung was burning, the Aos read the Holy Bible to begin their arson and deter the existence of the NSCN”, it stated and pointed out that NBCC “has been an institute of convenience and should not portray God to make money after every discord”.
