DIMAPUR, JULY 13 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has informed that “having realized the acts of treachery and treason”, the cadres who refused to associate themselves with “Khehoi gangsters” were outnumbered and they were disarmed and forcefully put under camp arrest for more than a week. Finally they managed to overpower the captors and establish contacts with the NSCN authorities and already reached the comrades who are now camping in Kiphire and Tuensang, informed a press note from MIP.
It was informed that ten cadres with 8 arms and several hundred rounds of ammunition and assorted explosives parted with the Khehoi group in Kiphire, led by Capt Lirise Sangtam and Capt Shikato Tikhir. Again last night, 14 Naga Army cadres, mostly Kukis, “with a total of 17 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition and an unspecified amount of explosives, deserted the Khehoi gangsters forcefully occupying the NSCN-K designated camp at Athibung last night and managed to reach Zeliangrong region in Manipur”. Another three Naga Army personnel followed suit and, along with three weapons and assorted ammunitions, managed to join the mainstream, it stated.
“These comrades in arms appeal to all the compatriots who are either, by duress confined by Khehoi gangsters in their camps at Khehoi or elsewhere or being misguided and associating themselves with these anti-Naga elements to realize the futility of such short-lived endeavor that is bound to bring only disgrace and dishonor to the cause for which they have been fighting for”.
