NSCN warns ‘anti-social elements’

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The NSCN (Unification) has pointed out that it was noting with seriousness the increase in “rampant extortions, kidnappings and anti-social activities perpetrated in the guise of national workers by anti-social elements, taking outmost advantage of the prevailing situation”. Terming this as “unwanted new development”, the NSCN unification in a press note issued by its publicity cell has appealed to the public, State law enforcement agencies and other State machineries to cooperate and step up vigilance so that these “criminal activities are nipped in the bud”.

Pointing out that whether one is a public or a national worker, “anyone who tries to vitiate the conducive peace atmosphere of the unification process at this festive season”, the NSCN unification will not allow anyone to go “scot-free but initiate stern and drastic action without any reservations so that evil deeds are averted”.

The NSCN unification meanwhile has also conveyed its warmest and best wishes for a “prosperous peaceful unified New Year” to all the Naga people while seeking their prayers, support and participation in the peace process so that fratricidal killing comes to an end and peace prevails.
