NSCN unification accuses NSCN (IM)

Likewise, the NSCN (unification) clarifies that one ‘captain” Peliakho alias Akho, “commander, Chumukedima tow command” of the NSCN-IM kidnapped one Ram Behari on December 19, 2007. The victim was released on December 22 after paying a ransom of “five lakhs and fifty thousand” claimed a note from the NSCN (unification) publicity cell.

The NSCN (unification) stated that numerous cases of kidnapping for ransom have been on the rise, especially in and around Dimapur by, the outfit claimed, “anti-Naga forces.” The outfit further claimed that these activities are aimed at “disturb and defame the ongoing Naga unification process.”

Maintaining that such kidnapping activities are being carried out in the name of “Naga nationalism,” the NSCN (unification) expressed “grave concern” and appealed to the public and businessmen to “keep vigil” to “tackle the menace.”
