Toluvi, July 6 (MExN): To effectively manage disaster, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) in collaboration with Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF with support from National Disaster Management Authority has organized a training on Emergency Operation and Search & Rescue for AAPDA-MITRA ‘Friends-in-Disaster’ and Community first Responder. 

The AAPDA-MITRA training is an in-house training for 12 days at Central Training Institute (CTI), Toluvi of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, Dimapur, stated a press release from the NSDMA.

The training aims to empower the community volunteer with skills they would need to respond to their community’s immediate needs in the aftermath of disaster thereby enabling them to undertake basic relief and rescue and rescue tasks during emergency situations. The training commenced on May 15 and will conclude on August 16. 

Till date volunteers from Kiphire, Phek, Longleng and Peren have completed their training.
