NSDMA hands over fully equipped hearse to NHAK

Kohima, January 8 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department handed over one of the first well equipped hearse vehicle in the State to the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) for the purpose of disposing dead bodies during this pandemic and also for other necessary usage.

According to a press release from the NSDMA, the hearse vehicle equipped with a freezer box and back up inverter for single body was handed over to the Principal Director, Department of Health & Family Welfare by Kazheto Kinimi, Advisor NSDMA, at the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), NSDMA, Home Department.

While handing over the vehicle, Advisor dedicated the vehicle to NHAK for the service of the people of Nagaland. Ahead of the handing over, Abhijit Sinha IAS, Principal Secretary Home, briefed that the Executive Committee of Chief Secretary Special Welfare Fund (CSSWF) during its meeting held on December 10, 2020 discussed about the need of a hearse vehicle in Nagaland and basing on the needs and requirements gave the responsibility to NSDMA, Home Department for purchasing and installation of necessary equipment in the vehicle.

Johnny Ruangmei, OSD to the Government of Nagaland, chairing the programme also briefed on the guidelines for operating the vehicle. Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, Principal Director, Department of Health & Family Welfare on receiving the vehicle thanked the Government and said that the vehicle will benefit the State and will have a long impact for the needy people of Nagaland.
