DIMAPUR, AUGUST 21 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) while appreciating various organizations, individuals, well wishers, political parties and the State government for the support towards affiliation of desiring private schools from other States to Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), has once again fervently appealed to all the elected representatives to introduce the enactment bill during the forthcoming Monsoon Session of the Assembly beginning on Tuesday.
“The career of thousands of students is at stake and the introduction of the bill is going to decide the fate of those students”, a press communiqué issued by Imchatoba Imchen and K. Elu Ndang, Vice-President and General Secretary respectively of the NSF stated. The NSF has urged all MLAs, Leader of the Opposition and Chief Minister irrespective of parties to sincerely expedite necessary actions and come to a common consensus in the interest of the students’ community. The NSF urged the Nagaland Government, Leader of Opposition and all elected MLAs to rescue those affected children from the four hill districts of the present State of Manipur.
The NSF also reaffirmed its commitment to the vision statement which it stated was “purely an expression without any biasness or attitude but for future generation. “As much as NSF is pained to see and feel the cry of the students, the federation feels that all the Naga leaders irrespective of political affiliation will surely feel the same”.
Signature campaign of students to PM
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 21 (MExN): A signature campaign of students from private schools in the four hill districts in Manipur has been kicked off with students in standard XIII, IX and X writing to the Prime Minister through post cards. According to sources, the students are urging the Prime Minister to recognize the right to education of one’s choice and to respect the desire for a common educational syllabus for a ‘united vision’. The postcard has appealed to the Prime Minister to grant consent for affiliation of schools to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). The postcards will be handed over to the UNC and ANSAM to be delivered to the Prime Minister, it was informed.
