NSRLM launched in Kohima and RD block Ralan, Wokha

Wokha/Kohima, September 1 (MExN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) was launched at RD Block Ralan under Wokha District and Kohima on August 30.
The NSRLM launching programme at RD Block Ralan was held in Old Ralan Guest House and was attended by Meyazungba, SDO (civil) Ralan; Ekonthung, BDO cum BMM RD Block Ralan; PH Alexander, Branch Head, IDBI Bank, Ralan Branch, all village key stakeholders under RD Block Ralan, civil society organization and DMMU and BMMU staffs of NSRLM.
A press release received here stated that while speaking at the launching programme, SDO (civil) Ralan encouraged the beneficiaries of NSRLM to develop the spirit of savings and investment for promoting self sustaining groups.
BDO stressed that the success of the programme depends on teamwork, determination of members, honesty and trust among the members. He also exhorted the men-folk to encourage women in forming SHGs. Branch Head, IDBI Ralan in his short speech emphasized on banking norms and stressed to the SHGs to strictly adhere to NRLM Panchasutras so as to avail credit linkage.
Overview of NRLM and its activities was shared by Samuel Kithan, ADPM Wokha. The programme was invocated by Renbomo Ovung, Pastor Old Ralan Baptist Chruch and was chaired by L Philip Ezung, AC Ralan Block, the welcome and keynote address was given by Chibeni Ngullie BPM, Ralan Block. The vote of thanks was delivered by Lydia Odyu, AC Ralan Block, and benediction was pronounced by Zuthunglo Humtsoe, Women Leader Old Ralan Baptist Chruch.
Meanwhile, the NSRLM Block Mission Management Unit for Kohima Block was officially launched by Kohima Deputy Commissioner, Thejawelie Gregory Sote at Kohima Village Council hall.
During the launching programme, Sote emphasised on the mentality and the attitude of rural stakeholders in implementing various government programs at the grassroot level.
‘All rural upliftment programmes initiated by the central or state governments have clear vision and objectives, but it is the people who either let it flourish or make a liability of it,’ he said. He urged the gathering to be more pro-active and committed while accepting rural upliftment programs and create sustainable community institutions in the long run.
Overview on NRLM was delivered by Keneivole Richa, ADPM-DMMU Kohima.Chubaneken, DPO-cum-DPM, DRDA Kohima; Menuoneituo Chadi, COO, NSRLM and Selabeituo Theünuo, BPM-SVEP also spoke on the occasion. Kohima BDO, Ruokuozelie Usou delivered the welcome address while Dziesekhrienuo Keretsü presented a special number.
The programme was chaired by Vitsu Yhome, Block Program Manager Kohima block while vote of thanks was proposed by Mesuhe Zao, AC-Kohima Block.
