DIMAPUR, MAY 9 (MExN): The Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) has decided to boycott their classes starting May 11 as part of their second phase agitation. It may be noted that the NSSATA had embarked on its first phase agitation following the failure of the Nagaland state government to heed to the association’s demand for implementation of the 7th ROP in line with regular state employees and inclusion to the State Non Plan Budget.
A press note from the NSSATA President, Penthungo Y Yanthan and General Secretary, Vinoka Sohe asserted that they would not rest until their demands are met and would continue to strive till “justice is delivered.”
NSSATA had served an ultimatum to the government on April 23 making the demand, sunsequent to which a consultative meetings were held on May 1 and 3. “However, the meetings did not result in any substantial solution and the demands stated in the ultimatum could not be addressed,” it informed. The NSSATA meanwhile appreciated its members for their cooperation till date and instructed them to strictly adhere to the agitation directives. It cautioned members stern actions would be taken in case of non compliance.
