Noksen, August 13 (MExN): With the objective of upholding the principles of a safe and drug-free environment, the Noksen Students’ Union (NSU) today issued a series of directives regarding sale and usages of banned substances within its jurisdiction.
The selling, distribution, or facilitation of banned substances not only violates the law but also pose significant risks to individuals and the integrity of the community, the NSU stated, in the directives to students reportedly issued after it was informed of sale of such banned substances in the Noksen area.
Accordingly, the Union stated that the sale of banned substances, including illegal drugs, prescription medications without proper authorisation, and other controlled substances, is strictly prohibited within Noksen jurisdiction.
Every individual should respect and abide by local, national, and international laws regarding the manufacture, sale, and possession of such substances, it said.
The NSU further cautioned that engaging in the sale or facilitation of prohibited substances can result in severe legal consequences, both at the local and national level and violators may face criminal charges and endure long-term legal repercussions, including Imprisonment, fines, or a permanent criminal record.
The NSU also stated that any student found involved in the selling or distribution of prohibited substances will face serious consequences according to the resolution adopted by the NSU. These actions may include legal, customary, or other appropriate measures to maintain a safe and drug-free environment.
The Union also encouraged all students to report any incidents involving the selling or distribution of banned substances within Noksen jurisdiction..
As an NGO, the NSU is committed to provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages personal growth, academic excellence, and the well-being of all students and by “adhering to these principles and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards the selling of banned substances, we ensure the sanctity of our community,” it added.
The students are further urged to reached out to NSU officials if they have any questions or concerns regarding the matter, it said.
“Let us come together to create an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, and a drug-free environment for the betterment of our students community,” the NSU added.
