NSVDBA seek Govt intervention to release salaries to DRDA employees

DIMAPUR, JUNE 11 (MExN): Nagaland State Village Development Board Association (NSVDBA) has appealed Nagaland Government to release the pending salaries to employees of the 11 District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA) who are currently on a pen down strike since June 8, 2016 in protest against nonpayment of salaries since the last 12 months. A press note from NSVDBA president, Tohoshe Awomi and general secretary Manthungo Kikon said the pen down strike called by the DRDA in all 11 districts in Nagaland has caused immense harm to the poor villagers.  Maintaining that whatever development seen today is because of the dedicated services rendered by the able officers and staffs of the Department of Rural Development, the Association therefore felt that the employees should not be deprived of their “legitimate share.” It therefore appealed the concern authority to release the salaries of the DRDA staff at the earliest so as to enable them to resume their assigned duties and work for the welfare of the rural population.
