NTCP Peren holds seminar on ‘ill effects of tobacco’

Peren, August 29 (MExN): Under the aegis of the Chief Medical Office, Peren District, National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Peren organized a one-day seminar at St. Xavier’s College, Jalukie Auditorium on the topic “Ill Effects of Tobacco” on August 23.The seminar was held  in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club (RRC) ,National Service Scheme of St Xavier’s College Jalukie. 

A press release issued by Pezanguno Celine Sechii , District Media Officer Peren stated that the programme was hosted by Nhaudaile, member of RRC. A welcome address was delivered by Father Francis S Cheerangal the Principal of St. Xavier’s College. Dr Sabino, Nodal Officer NTCP who was the main speaker at the seminar spoke on the “Ill effects of Tobacco.”

A special number was presented by Witinggthuliu and a skit was performed by the RRC members based on the seminar topic.  The vote of thanks was delivered by Ramisinang Newme. The seminar ended with the students pledging to keep themselves free from tobacco and to campaign towards a better community and to keep a clean environment free from tobacco, the release added.
