NU Lumami Fresher’s Meet: Students urged to set goals, have perseverance

Lumami, August 27 (MExN): Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami (NUSU (L)) celebrated 20th Varsity Fresher’s Meet on August 25 at I. Ihoshe Kinimi Hall on the theme ‘Erudite.’  

Sushil Kumar Patel, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, who was the chief guest, inspired the students by sharing his past struggles and difficulties, stated a press release from NUSU (L). The most important thing, the DC said, was the education he received from government school as his father could not afford to send him to better private institution. He encouraged the students that rejection is a common thing today but one should know how to overcome every problem with endurance. Further, the students were advised to set goals, acquire continuous knowledge, work hard with devotion, and also have the quality of perseverance to be successful in life.  

Earlier, Chumseli Anar, President, NUSU (L) welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to feel at home and challenged them by quoting, “Let’s be the generation to come together, be together and work together” for the betterment of students community in particular and university in general.  

The programme was followed by a special number from Lumami Vocal Band. Special prayer for the freshers was said by Elika, Chaplin NUCF, while speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Litsuvi Rume.  

The second session of the programme was hosted by Nungshilila and Steve, where Repekaba and band opened the show with grand performance. All the seven hostels of Lumami also participated and entertained the crowd.  

The titles of Mr and Miss Fresher were bagged by Hazarat Adam and Narola Langur respectively, Mr Personality by K. Buche and Miss Congeniality by Sejang. Mr and Miss photogenic titles went to Tekasangba and Ninen. The show for the freshers was choreographed by Serfudin Ali and T. Lemteshi.
