Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): Naga United Village (NUV) held its Golden Jubilee Challenge programme on September 9 at the village public ground for the upcoming golden jubilee celebration scheduled for February 8, 2018. Special guests for the programme were Vecipa Vise, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Dimapur, Temsuba Aier, Assistant Inspector General (AIG), and Chubawati Chang, Project Director, Tuensang. Vise appealed to the general public that despite the diversity within the village, “we all need to be united, to be responsible citizens and also co-operate with one another so as to set an example for the other villages.” Meanwhile, Chang appealed to the citizens to work together for the coming golden jubilee. Each individual, he said, has an important role to play for the development and betterment of not only the village but also for the whole Naga society. Aier in his speech thanked the pioneers and founders of the village for their contribution and appealed to the citizens of the village to continue carrying out the vision of the founders. The meaning of jubilee was shared by Rev. Nungoyi Khesoh, brief report from the golden jubilee organizing committee was given by convener Reyopoyi Nyekha, while brief history about the village was shared by C Danyi Lea, Advisor, and NUVBC. Shihoni Zhimomi led the prayer for the upcoming jubilee programme. The programme, which was attended by about 400 village leaders and elders, ended with a prayer from Chingbam, Pastor, United Phom Baptist Church.
