Kohima: The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization(NVCO) has made an appeal to all the churches and prayer centers in the state to pray for the success of ACAUT Nagaland’s mission.
NVCO president & convener, ACAUT Nagaland (Legal Cell), Kezhokhoto Savi said that ACAUT Nagaland is not a political party but simply a peoples’ movement, solely to fight for public rights.
Savi voiced out against the taxation imposed by “various underground groups”, Nagaland Police, Public organisations, associations, federation & several government departments illegally collecting cash at the check gates and on highways, municipal & town councils collecting toll tax and never spending it for road maintenance, Ministers and Politicians deducting certain percentages of money from public funds meant for development in the name of ‘Commission’, fund-raising by way of selling lottery tickets, buffet, calendars, moudi/packed food, selling newspapers by way of asking for donations, donation vouchers etc.
He said when the amount of illegal taxation going on within society has crossed the limit, it is high time “we should all stand to our feet and raised our voice together in order to eradicate the menace before it is too late.” He added that ACAUT Nagaland strongly believes in prayers and appealed for all Christians brothers and sisters to remember the mission of ACAUT Nagaland in their special prayer, particularly on March 9, and to all the churches and prayer centers irrespective of denominations to have a special prayer for ACAUT Nagaland. “This is also praying for Nagaland so that Nagaland would remain no longer a land of extortion, illegal taxations, corruption, etc,” he added.
Meanwhile, a team of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers' Organizatio (NVCO) led by its president Kezhokhoto Savi, who is also one of the Convener of ACAUT Nagaland will be visiting churches at Kohima on March 9 during the Sunday worship services and present a special number.
