NWSTT appeals BSNL to restore network in Tening

Peren, August 29 (MExN): Ntumai Welfare Society Tening Town (NWSTT) today highlighted the poor phone/internet network in the town and urged BSNL to resolve the issue.

While acknowledging BSNL, the only telecom service provider available in the town, for their service, the Society in a press release lamented that the network in Tening is getting from bad to worse that “we are obliged to present our feedbacks, comments and facts.”

The release issued by Arithbo Rentta, president NWSTT, pointed out that it has been several years that the denizens of Tening have been struggling with the “present sporadic and feebly network state due to the department's failure to fix the gadget at Tening BSNL office.”

It was revealed during enquiry that in 2014, a major part of the department’s machine was damaged due to lightning, after which, the network had gone haywire, according to the Society. It expressed disheartenment that the same problem has not been fixed till date.

In this regard, it questioned, “Why the department has failed to redress the problem for all these years? If the department is aware of the fact that the world is mandatorily networked, that it is a crime to deny the facility to people, and that a few minutes network glitch is a setback to people from all walks of life, why don't you streamline your implements for improvement of lives?”

The lives of the people in Tening, it maintained, are at stake because of the present network failure as “we are living and depending on it for livelihoods, communications, business, studies, seeking knowledge and what not.” The “typical lackadaisical attitude” of the department, NWSTT asserted, has no place in the present society.

In light of this, the Society “urgently” appealed to the BSNL head office to redress the “4 years old network crises, and restore the network system to its normal state in no time.” It expected BSNL to do better and provide their best network facility to the community in the coming days.
