Kohima, July 26 (MExN): On account of the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018, a seminar on sanitation was conducted by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kohima in collaboration with the Directorate of Urban Development Swachh Bharat Mission at DC Conference Hall, Kohima on July 25. Shaying Sheu, SDO (Civil) Kohima and Changsang, EAC Kohima were present as resource persons.
Changsang briefed on the Swachh Bharat mission. He also stressed on treatment of wastes. He further encouraged the youth present to put more importance on sanitation and Open-Defecation, a release here said.
Calling upon the attendees to avoid using plastics, Shaying highlighted the dangers and health hazards of using plastic and added that plastic bags not only create risks for health but also causes enormous impact on our environment where most plastic bags end up in the landfills, waterways, forests, creeks and on every street corner due to the improper disposal of plastic bags which results to littering.
Pamphlets were distributed to the attedees. The program was attended by club members from Good shepherd Club, Kezekevi club, Catalyst Club and other youths, it said.
