NYK organize Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in Wokha

Wokha, March 13 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) organized Neighborhood Youth Parliament at Niroyo village in Wokha district on the topic “Government schemes and the role of youth in nation building” with Tsenbenthung Khuvung, CO, AXIS Bank, as the resource person.  

A press release from Alex Humtsoe, NYK Volunteer, Wokha, informed that the resource person highlighted the flagship programmes of the government. He stressed particularly on Digital India, Skill India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Mudra Bank, MGNREGA, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, and Atal Pension Yojana.

The resource person encouraged all participants to be aware of all the government schemes available and take good advantage of the programmes. He also encouraged the youth to take part in decision making as well as to be a responsible person in the society and contribute something as nation building process starts from the grassroots level. Tsenbenthung further urged them to focus and utilize their skills to make their livelihood and to be satisfied with what they already have, the release said.  

IYRE Director, Wokha, Ethel Ngullie highlighted the core of life skills and the main objectives of NYKS. Alex Tsopoe chaired the programme, while R. Nzanbeni Humtsoe gave the welcome speech, and Renbeni Tsopoe delivered the keynote address.  

Altogether 48 participants and invitees attended the programme.
