NYK volunteers carry out cleanliness drives

Kohima, August 13 (MExN): As part of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada,’ NYK volunteers of Kohima district organized cleanliness drives at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK) and NAP colony, Tseminyu respectively on August 12. The drives were organized in collaboration with Urban Development Swachh Bharat Mission, Government of Nagaland.  

The theme for the cleanliness drive at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima was ‘Freedom from Filthiness.’ NYK volunteers informed that the drive was initiated to create awareness to the patients that clean and hygienic surrounding can enable all to prevent different diseases caused by unhygienic living.  

A total of 35 volunteers and club members from Catalyst, Good Shepherd, The Quasar, Anime Cosplay, Dzüvürü Youth Organisation, Siedze Krotho, and VAK participated in the cleanliness drive.  

In Tseminyu, the cleanliness drive was organized by the NYK Tseminyu Block. The main objective was to create awareness among the citizens on how cleanliness plays important role in keeping good health, a press release stated. 29 volunteers participated in the drive held on the theme ‘To keep our village green and clean.’ They also cleaned the surroundings of Angawadi centre.
