Officers pledge to preserve and strengthen nation’s integrity

KOHIMA, NOV 24 (DIPR): Administrative heads and heads of departments, Government of Nagaland reaffirmed their commitment to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation. The solemn pledge was administered by Chief Secretary, Lalhuma to the officers in the bi-monthly meeting held in the Civil Secretariat Conference Hall at Kohima, today.

The officers also pledged  not to resort to violence but to endeavour towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region of other political or economic grievances by peaceful and constitutional means.

The solemn pledge marked the observance of National Integration Week, from 19th to 25th November 2006. November 24 is also Flag Day, and to mark the occasion, the participants contributed towards the National Fund (for communal harmony) for the welfare of children affected by communal violence.
