Mokokchung, May 15 (MExN): Sentiyanger Pongen, Additional Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Nagaland, along with Er Nuhuta Tetseo, SDO of the Engineering Wing, inspected the PM-USHA projects at Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung on may 15, as part of a broader review of government colleges in the state.
During the visit, a brief interactive session was held with the teaching and non-teaching faculty at the college’s conference hall.
Principal Dr I Wati Imchen highlighted the institution’s pressing issues and challenges, citing the need for more resources, manpower, and greater responsibilities under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He urged the department to formulate a state-level roadmap for NEP 2020, noting that the policy requires systematic changes to meet its objectives. He also appealed for attention to the college’s institutional requirements to enable meaningful academic and social contributions.
Teaching faculty members also raised their grievances and concerns during the session.
Additional Secretary Pongen assured that matters related to the institution’s needs, which are common to government colleges across Nagaland, would be examined. He encouraged faculty members to offer their advice and suggestions for the betterment of both the institution and the department.
