A new project for oleoresin extraction and marketing is being planned to be taken up during the financial year by State’s Women Resource Development Department.
The project aims at employment generation for women at various levels- cultivation of oleoresin spice crops, transportation, sorting and grading, pre-processing, processing and extraction, packaging and marketing.
Development of the main production and processing centre is planned to be taken up at Jalukie under Peren district, according to the annual administrative report of the Women Resource Development Department 2015-16.
The programme will also cover Zunheboto, Wokha and Mokokchung districts for plantation, cultivation and supply of oleoresin spice crops such as turmeric, ginger, Naga King Chili, mint and sesame to the main centre.
