Kohima, October 11 (MExN): One person was caught by public while he was trying to steal a diesel generator battery from Viom Network mobile tower located at New NST, Kohima on October 7 around 10:30 am. Informing this in a press release, SDPO/PRO, Kohima Police said the accused was subsequently produced at North Police Station and was taken into police custody. The arrested accused has been identified as Sagar Chettri (25), presently residing at TCP Gate, Kohima. The PRO mentioned there have been instances of theft from Viom Network mobile tower, New NST, Kohima on several occasions wherein the following items were reported stolen in the past, namely diesel generator battery, power cable, self dynamo and armature. “As such, the arrested accused is also strongly suspected of his involvement in all the previous instances of theft,” it added. A case vide Kohima North P.S Case No. 0075/2016 U/S 380 IPC was registered against the arrested accused for conducting further investigation.
