Stakeholder meeting on upgrading micro-food processing enterprises

To strengthen the approach and implementation of One District One Product (ODOP) in Nagaland under Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) Scheme, the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland today organized a stakeholder meeting through offline and online mode with the line departments, stakeholders and M/S Transgraph Consulting Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in partnership with the state and Union Territory governments has launched an all-India Centrally Sponsored PM FME Scheme for providing financial, technical and business support for upgrade of existing micro food processing enterprises.

The scheme adopts approach to reap benefit of scale in terms of procurement of inputs, availing common services and marketing of products. 

In this, the states would identify food products for a district keeping ODOP in view the existing clusters and availability of raw material.

In Nagaland, the identified ODOP for 11 districts includes; Kohima-Pickle products, Dimapur-Pineapple products, Mokokchung-Coffee products, Wokha-Fish products, Peren-Naga King chilly products, Phek-Kiwi products, Kiphire (Aspirational District)-Kholar (Rajma) products, Tuensang-Kholar (Rajma) products, Mon-Large cardamom products, Longleng-Ginger products and Zunheboto-Soya bean products.

During the meeting, representatives from M/S Transgraph Consulting Pvt Ltd made a presentation on the study of State Level Up-gradation Plan (SLUP) on ODOP, which was conducted in Nagaland.

Earlier, Commissioner & Secretary for Industries & Commerce Kekhrievor Kevichusa delivered the keynote address. The programme was led by Mhasiphizo Michael Khezhie, department nodal officer for PM FME Scheme, Directorate of Industries & Commerce while welcome address was delivered by Hokishe K Assumi, Director for Industries & Commerce, Nagaland. Vitsutho Nyuthe, additional director, Directorate of Industries & Commerce gave closing remarks.
