Barely 12 hours after a fatal shooting rocked Dimapur on August 16, another person was found dead in a suspected execution-style killing in Zubza, Kohima on August 17. The deceased victim, whose identity the police was still ascertaining, was found shot in the head with hands tied to a post. The Kohima police informed that the body was discovered around 7:30am, adjacent to NH 29 in a place known locally as Dzuva Khrietsie waiting shed. “As per the post-mortem report, the cause of death was gunshot wound to the head,” said the police. The victim was a non-Naga and likely in his 20s and the body was still in the morgue pending identification.
