One house damaged in Kohima fire incident

A major fire incident occurred in Kohima this morning reportedly due to electric short circuit completely damaging a house and property worth around 2 lakh. Office in charge, Fire Station Kohima (South) informed The Morung Express that a fire call was received at 8:30 am at Jail Colony, Kohima. Responding promptly, the fire was doused off in less than 30 minutes. 

The house was an Assam Type, BCG Sheet Wall where most of the equipments and electrical appliances including laptop, cell phone, fan, oven, washing machine, water tank, kitchen set, clothes etc were damaged. While, the fire was reported to have started between 7:00-7:30 am, Fire OC said nothing could be salvaged since fire call may have been delayed. 

Two fire tenders and 8 personnel from Kohima South fire station were deployed during the call of duty. However, no injury was also reported. 

The fire station department has appealed the public not to panic and report cases immediately keeping in mind traffic and narrow lane. It also assured 24/7 preparedness in the part of the department.
