A person was killed and another wounded as miscreants opened fire towards them at Ngarouthel village under Heirok police station of Thoubal district in Manipur last night, official reports said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ningthoujam Ramesh alias Rishang Singh (65) of Heirok Tourangbam Leikai. He had bullet injury marks on his right side of the belly. He succumbed to the bullet injuries on the way to a hospital in Imphal after first aid at Thoubal district hospital.
The injured person was identified as Ningthoujam Kala Singh (60) of the same village. With bullet injuries on his right thigh, he has been admitted at a hospital in Imphal, the report also said.
Local reports said that armed miscreants opened fire toward the village last night, around 9 pm.
